Gomoa East Districts with its capital Administrative capital Afransi forms part of the new districts and municipalities created last year by the President, J.A Kufuor were inaugurated at their various locations simultanously on the 29th of February 2008.The President by an Executive Instrument (E.I) created 27 new Districts, 4 Municipalities, Upgraded 26 existing Districts and 2 existing Municipalities. The District forms part of twenty (20) Metropolitan, Municipalities and Districts in the Central Region of Ghana. The District shares Boundaries with the Mother District Gomoa West to the South, to the North with Agona West Municipal, to the West with Assikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District and to the East with Awutu-Senya East District.

This districts tourism industry has been an industry in Ghana and the Central region currently rates as the third foreign exchange earner for the country.
Available statistics indicate that tourism offered over US$650 million. Despite its huge potential in the district, it remains underdeveloped.
Our population is more than 127,945 and currently the population is estimated to be 6.4% of the regional population.
GOMOA E: DCE resigns The District Chief Executive position in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region has been left vacant following the resignation of the District Chief Executive, Isaac K. Ahunu Armah.
GOMOA E: Include Gomoa Central in LEAP - MP Mrs Rachel Nana Adjoa Appoh Opoku, Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has made a passionate appeal to the President, to include her constituency in the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme, to help reduce abject poverty in the area.
GOMOA E: Work on Gomoa Gyaman SHS begins Gomoa Gyaman in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region is among the first 50 districts to benefit from the government’s programme to construct 200 community senior high schools (SHSs) across the country by 2016.
